Pumpkin Patch Time

This past weekend we went to a new pumpkin patch, Hillridge Farms, and it was amazing. I think it might have been better than going to the fair. The pictures will tell the story.

Emma and Riley turn 3!

Emma and Riley turned 3 last week and we helped them celebrate the big day. We had lunch at McDonald's which is the girls favorite place and then went to their house for cupcakes. It was lots of fun!

All Saints' first Yard Sale

All Saints' hosted a yard sale on October 4th in honor of Cara Grace Hazell to raise money for "First Candle" which is an organization that does research for stillbirths. Tim and Cynthia Hazell are members of our church and lost their baby this past March at 38 weeks. They are an amazing couple and we feel so blessed to be friends with them. The children's ministry hosted a Bake sale and Lemonade stand (see below post) to raise money also. The day was a huge success with raising just over $700. It was a beautiful day and I could certainly feel Cara Grace's presence that day.

Our children's ministry at church hosted a bake sale and lemonade stand at a yard sale a few weeks ago. So, Emma and Riley and Riley Rae got together to do a little baking. My friend Ann had us over and the girls had a great time together. They added the chocolate chips and did lots of stirring and did a great job taking turns. Of course they had to sample a little too while baking. It was so cute seeing them all in their aprons. It was a great event in teaching our children how to do for others and have a great time while you are doing it.

I hope no one saw me eat that chocolate chip!

Finger Painting

Riley and grandma did lots of crafts together during her visit. I think Riley's favorite was finger painting. She was not so sure at first with getting her fingers "dirty" She would stick her finger in the paint and then want you to wipe it off before she painted. After seeing what she was suppose to do, I think she had lots of fun.

Riley was so excited about her grandma coming to visit that we heard for weeks how she was going to make cupcakes with her. It is so crazy to me how much little kids can remember. When we were explaining to Riley which grandma and grandpa were coming to visit, she knew this was the grandma that made her birthday cake. So needless to say she told us over and over that she was going to make cupcakes with her grandma.

Duke Gardens

While Grandma and Papa B were here visiting we made a trip to Duke Gardens. We did not realize that it was a game day for Duke, so traffic was a little crazy but we found our way. The gardens was having a plant and craft sale, so there was more people than usual there. We thought that grandma would really like to go as she loves flowers. She said if she could have gotten them back on the plane she would have been buying some. It was a perfect day for a trip to the gardens. Riley of course had a great time looking at all of the flowers and just running around.
